Through its activities such as the IOSN-InWEnt Linux Trainings, Asia Source II, Asia Source III and FOSS-Bridge EU-Vietnam, it@foss has facilitated numerous regional networks of FOSS experts from Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines and beyond.

1) Overall it@foss Alumni community
Hosted by the Alumniportal Germany, this group is for all experts and trainers, who took part in one or several of the training and networking initiatives carried out through it@foss from 2005 to 2009 (see here for an overview). As a participant of the it@foss courses you are cordially invited to join the it@foss alumni group on the Alumniportal Germany. By doing so, you have access to FOSS-experts, world-wide events and training-initiatives, job offers from your region, tips and information about the German language as well as interesting news and a “Topic of the month”.

2) Asia Source III Community
"Asia Source 3 - Building Capacities and Empowering Humanity through the use of Free and Open Source Software to connect, cooperate, and collaborate – the FOSS way" brought together 150 representatives from all over Asia to discuss latest developments in open source from November 7 to 12, 2009 in the Philippines. the Asia Source 3 community represents a large cross section of non-governmental organizations, small businesses, youth networks, and technology entrepreneurs from 15 countries in Asia.

3) Asia Source 2 Community
Asia Source 2: Free and Open Technology for NGOs and SMEs
"Asia Source 2: Free and Open Technology for NGOs and SMEs" gathered the Open Source community of Asia on 22-30 January 2007 in Sukabumi, Indonesia. The ensuing virtual community with experts and representativews from non-governmental organizations, small businesses, and technology entrepreneurs is still live and kicking through its mailinglist and other community and alumni events.

4) FOSS Bridge EU Vietnam: Vietnamese FOSS Experts group
The FOSS Bridge Expert Community constituted itself during several modules of the FOSS Bridge EU-Vietnam training-of-trainer program implemented from April to November 2008. This group together with FOSS Bridge EU-Vietnam organized the "Drive for change" event, a public conference on FOSS in Hanoi in November 2008. Today they build a pool of active FOSS promoters and advocates who can spread key knowledge on how to create a business based on FOSS and/or build up actions aiming at raising FOSS awareness in Vietnam. 5) Network of Linux Administration Trainers and Experts (LPI) in Southeast Asia
From 2005 to 2008, it@foss facilitated a range of regional training the trainer courses on the issue of "Linux Administration" to increase the number of LPI trainers and certified personnel in Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.

The IOSN Community offers several opportunities to communicate and collaborate with others active and interested in FOSS development in Southeast Asia.
For example, as software developer you can contribute to Southeast Asian FOSS projects or look for co-developers for your own project.
