Deutsche Telekom AG is the technical partner in the advanced training programme „Business related IT Consultancy“ run by InWEnt gGmbH. One of the major future challenges facing Deutsche Telekom is to overcome the "digital divide" between the well developed structure in industrial countries and the poorer situation in developing countries. As one of the world’s leading telecommunication companies, we believe we have a particular duty to make telecommunications and IT technologies available to the broadest possible social strata.

T-Punkt Business in Freiburg has already been involved in the further training programs over
the past few years. In 2005, T-Punkt Business was entrusted with the management and implementation of the technical training programme. As a competence center for the SME sector, T-Punkt Business on the one hand has comprehensive contacts with t he regional business community and its managers and executives (in the border area between Germany, France and Switzerland). With its workshops and seminars held at the Businessforum on its own premises, it is simultaneously a competent provider of training courses in the e-business sector, with a strong network of experienced ICT trainers.

Focal point of the advanced training programme is the use of open source technologies, and the services of experts from this sector have been recruited for the project. It has also gained the support of numerous institutions and business enterprises as partners for the current programme. These include, for example:

• Freiburg University (e-learning/CMS)
• Max Planck Institute for Criminal Law (e-law)
• Baden-Württemberg Criminal Investigation Department (IT security)
• Baden-Württemberg Police Academy (IT security)
• Lörrach Academy of Vocational Studies (networking security)
• Datadirect GmbH (VPN security)

Cooperation with these partners not only guarantees that our teaching contents are always up to date and of a high quality standard, but also promotes the network concept of the overall programme. We are delighted to assume a part of global responsibility in our capacity as partners in this programme.
